At the state level, I was actively involved in several medical associations and organizations in Mississippi. I served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association from 1982-1984 and 1993-1995, and as the President of the association in 1984-1985 and 1990-1991. I also chaired the Legislative Committee of the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association from 1998 to 2010.

Additionally, I was appointed twice by the Governor Haley Barbour and served for 12 years on the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure including as president. In that time I held various leadership positions such as Secretary from 2007-2009, Vice-President from 2009-2010 and 2014-2015, and President from 2010-2012. This involvement at the state level demonstrates my commitment to the medical profession and my efforts to shape healthcare policies and regulations in Mississippi.
